Triassic Triops

If you’re like me, you love looking at Top 10 lists of any kind. I think it’s always interesting to read about what other people find interesting or to analyze subjects and topics by studying what people are buying. Like many people in the retail world say, customers vote with their pocket book (or wallet, or credit card, or whatever). You get the point. While it’s not always accurate to rate a product by how many people are buying it, it’s usually a pretty good indicator as to other factors such as its quality, fun factor, value, etc.

Atomic Elephant Toy, a retailer primarily in the science education field recently published their list of best selling toys for 2008. Granted, they published it in June and the best selling Christmas toys may be different from the best selling spring/summer toys, it’s still interesting to see what customers interested in science toys are buying. As expected, some of the toys were definitely suited more for the spring: ant farms, greenhouses and live animal kits. But I suppose their chemistry sets and construction kits are well suited for any time of the year.

If you’re interested in finding some of the best selling toys to date in 2008, check out their list. I’ve personally played with a couple of these (the insta-snow, Uncle Milton Ant Farms, the owl pellet and the Triassic Triops) and can happily agree with the customers… some of these were my favorite toys as well.
