How do spammers find my blogs?
November 9th, 2008 | by admin |Some of my blogs get dozens or more spam comments a day. Is it that easy for spamb0ts to find posts and try to get their crappy ad comments actually listed? And an even more interesting question- does it ever work? Some of my blogs don’t get touched for several weeks or maybe a month or more in between posts. Yes, I’m pretty lazy sometimes. Or just busy. I logged into one blog last night and there were over 1,000 comments “waiting for moderation.” All with links to some OTC drug or cheap car insurance.
Do enough blogs out there let these comments go through that it’s worth the time for spammers to even try? I’ve thought about just opening a blog to let all comments post automatically and see what happens. I wonder if spambots talk to other spambots and tell them, “Hey, we found one that will actually let comments go through. It’s over here. Follow me!”
