You’ve got to love this classic Sesame Street album. Twenty tracks guaranteed to keep your toddler hyped up and dancing on the furniture for hours. With this many songs, there’s at least one for every letter of the alphabet. You’ll be amazed at Big Bird’s deep voice as he sings “The Sound of the Letter A.” And Elmo barely breaks into the annoying third-person pattern as he sings “ABC-DFE-GHJ.” Our favorite Oscar the Grouch gets a solid two tracks with his “Bee Sandwich” and “Four Furry Friends Fight Fifty Filthy Fudge Monsters.”
This actually seems like a pretty cool CD. I haven’t heard it but I did listen to a couple seconds worth of clips from Amazon. In fact, here’s what one of their official editorial reviewers said (and I paraphrase here): When you hear this creative collection of awesome alliterative alphabet anthems, you’ll be shocked and awed at the various verses and clever choruses (more alliteration). Whether it’s the classic “‘C’ Is for Cookie” or “MMM Monster Meal,” young kids will get a kick out of the funky frivolous fun while learning language set to song. Along with the loony lyrical letter tunes, there’s a “What’s My Letter?” skit with Prairie Dawn and Guy Smiley and a fun fantastic fable, “The Tale of Tom Tattertall Tuttletut,” featuring Herbert Birdsfoot and the Anything People. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more alluring alphabet album anywhere.
