Update, 2010: the below post was written when Gary Coleman was still alive. It was purely satirical and I certainly mean no disrespect to the former child star. He was a great talent in his youth, but unfortunately became the punchline of many late-night comics in his later years. I offer my condolences to his family and friends.
Okay, it’s time for another fun top 10 list. Tonight I’m going to post about the top 10 best paid actors of 2008. My guesses (before looking at the list) are: Will Smith (he’s just a superstar and I’m sure he made a lot of money with ‘Hancock’ and maybe ‘I am Legend’… was that in 2008?). Next I’m going to say Will Farrell– I think he had a couple of hits last year. Now I’m really drawing a blank. Who else? George Clooney maybe. Brad Pitt? Oh yeah, Harrison Ford with the latest Indiana Jones movie. I’m sure that made him a lot of money. Okay, I’m tired of guessing. Here are the results…
1. Will Smith, $80 million
2. Johnny Depp, $72 million
3. Eddie Murphy, $55 million
4. Mike Myers, $55 million
5. Leonardo DiCaprio, $45 million
6. Bruce Willis, $41 million
7. Ben Stiller, $40 million
8. Nicolas Cage, $38 million
9. Will Ferrell, $31 million
10. Adam Sandler, $30 million
Well now, I guess I did a terrible job of guessing tonight. Aside from the obvious #1 earner, I totally missed numbers two through eight. I forgot all about Johnny Depp and the latest Pirates movie. And Eddie Murphy? As much as I love him, I can’t for the life of me think of a movie he put out in 2008. Likewise for Willis, Stiller and Cage. I would have guessed Sandler to be in the top 10 if I had remembered him. And where the Hell is Gary Coleman? I would have thought that the royalty checks from Diff’rent Strokes alone would have kept him in the top three. That’s all for tonight.

The end.
I like to consider breaks during the my day and appear by way of some blogs to determine what others are talking about. This website happened to show up in my searches and I couldn’t aid clicking on it. I’m glad I did since it was a extremely fulfilling read.
Thanks. I’m glad you found this an extremely fulfilling read.
Note, for anybody who happens to stumble upon this post, the above comment was written by someone who gets paid to submit comments to random blogs. Usually they get paid only if the blog owner lets the comment through. When they actually let the comment through the spam filters, the site owner (who paid for this service to get cheap links), gets a link from some lame blog to their site. In this case, a site called onlytopreviews.com paid some service, who pays people to spam blogs – and then pays those writers a few pennies for each successful comment.
Also, by reading the above comment, you can tell it wasn’t written in English. It was probably written in the native language of some poor soul working in an Internet sweat shop. You can tell by the line “I couldn’t aid clicking on it.” The translation software obviously converted the native writer’s language to “aid” when a less literal translation should have converted it to “help.” Also, they probably meant “looking for some blogs” which got translated to “appear by way of some blogs.”
I sincerely feel sorry for folks who are trying to eek out a living by posting comments on random blogs. That’s why I’ll sometimes let them through. And let the poor writer above earn three cents on my behalf. So, you’re welcome.
